Top 5 Happy Hours in Omaha, Nebraska

21 Jun

I’ve lived in Omaha for quite some time now (I don’t wish to disclose the exact amount of time because it’s kind of sad), and if I’ve learned one thing, it’s where the best happy hours are! I have compiled a list of not only my favorites, but my friend’s faves as well. Please keep in mind that we are all in our 20s and 30s, we love to eat, drink and be merry, but above all…we’re cheap! Below are the top 5 happy hours in Omaha, all of which you can get full and drunk at for under $25, not including tip (bad tippers go to hell, just sayin’).

1) Kona Grill  –Ask anyone around here where the best happy hour is, and you’ll always get “Kona!”. Yeah it’s a sushi joint and yeah, not everyone likes sushi. Kona offers fantastic pizzas, sliders, tacos and tons more in the way of non-sushi items. They even offer a low cal drink AND food menu! Happy hour pricing is offered on their lovely patio and bar area.

Menu

The Crowd: Varies a little but you’ll mostly see 20-30’s, well dressed youngsters or 30-50’s business folks around here.

Type: Sushi and American. They offer food and beverage at happy hour prices.

Menu

The Crowd: This place ranges from family, to business to party. Happy hour is mostly the 20-40 group, very laid back and friendly.

Type: Mexican of course (Tex-Mex if you wanna get technical)

Be sure to try one of their brick over pizzas (I recommend the chick pesto) in the bar, lounge or patio (half off during happy hour ;). You can also catch live music here (dates change so check back on their site). Oh, and check their Facebook wall as well, they offer tons of specials.

Menu

4) Storm Chasers Games -Thirsty Thursdays I’m sure some people go to watch the ball game, but we go for the $1 beers! Every other Thursday you can head over to beautiful, clean, new Wener Park for Thirsty Thursdays. It’s a great way to get in some outdoor time and be loud with some friends. You can either slum it on the “Home Run Porch” for a mere $6.50, or you can spring for “Club” seats that will only set you back $16, complete with cocktail service. Check out your seating options.

The Crowd: Well this is obvious. Buuuut, when you’re getting a lil’ tipsy please remember that old folks and little kids are trying to enjoy the game and the atmosphere as well. Don’t be the douche bag that’s cursing up a storm.
